He may be poor, however intelligent he may be, if he has no karma.
ကံမရွိ ဥာဏ္ရွိတိုင္းမြဲ။

He praises the pickling of his own fish.
ကိုယ့္ငါးခ်ဥ္ ကိုယ္ခ်ဥ္။

He rides without knowing whether it’s a stallion or mare.
ကိုယ္စီးတဲ့ျမင္း အထီးမွန္းအမမွန္း မသိ။

He tries to establish relationship with a person only when the person has gold.
ေရႊရွိမွ အမ်ဳိးေတာ္။

He was all right when he was sitting; only when he got up did I realize he was lame.
ထိုင္ေနေတာ့ အေကာင္းသား၊ ထသြားမွ အကိ်ဳးမွန္းသိ။

He who talks isn’t strong; he who’s strong doesn’t talk.
လူေျပာမသန္၊ လူသန္မေျပာ။

He would like to ride a difficult buffalo but hasn’t enough courage.
မရဲဘဲ ကြၽဲျပဲစီးခ်င္။

His mouth say; “Buddha Buddha, ” but his hand acts contrariwise.
ပါးစပ္က ဘုရား ဘုရား၊ လက္က ကားယား ကားယား။

Husband and wife are like tongue and teeth.
လင္နဲ႔မယား လွ်ာနဲ႔သြား။

I have no money to pay the debt and no land abscond to.
ေပးစရာ ေငြမရွိ၊ ေျပးစရာ ေျမမရွိ။

If a needle can pierce it don’t chop with an axe.
အပ္ျဖင့္ ထြင္း၍ရလွ်င္၊ ပုဆိန္ျဖင့္ မခုတ္ရ။

အစေကာင္းလွ်င္ အေႏွာင္းေသခ်ာမည္။

ႏြားကြဲလွ်င္ က်ားဆြဲမည္။
